Management Seminar: German Bender + Mats Jutterström and Thomas Fischer

German Bender and Mats Jutterström will jointly present a paper on labor market wage setting. Thomas Fischer will follow with a presentation on meaning in the contexts, relationships and behaviours at the workplace.

Affiliated researchers and will present their new research on the labor market wage setting in Sweden. How can we understand this way of "Organizing Price Formation" as the paper is called?

Associate Professor is visiting us from the Geneva School of Economics and Management. His work focuses on three topics. First, he examines the most effective ways to study leadership behaviors and styles, identifies a systematic misproduction of knowledge on this topic, and offers solutions to this problem. Second, he examines how people talk about their leadership, finds that this talk is only loosely and selectively connected to leadership practice, and demonstrates why managing the meaning others attach to one's leadership is important. Third, he examines fundamental questions in organizational and management theory, which include how organizations induce individual passivity beyond pathological reasons, how ownership influences organizational actions beyond corporate governance considerations, and how employees make sense of bureaucracy on morally charged topics.

The title of his presentation at the seminar is: “Positively Sub-Texting Leadership: Managing the Meaning of Workplace Behaviors, Contexts, and Relationships”

Fischer's academic background and engagements are impressive, you can take port of its full scope .
