Policy brief: As the dramatic consequences of climate change are starting to unfold, addressing the intermittency of low-carbon energy sources, such as solar and wind, is crucial. The obvious solution to intermittency is energy storage. However, its constraints and implications are far from trivial. Developing and facilitating energy storage is associated with technological difficulties as well as economic and regulatory problems that need to be addressed to spur investments and foster competition. With these issues in mind, the annual Energy Talk, organized by the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics, invited three experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities of energy storage.

After having been relatively mildly affected in the first wave, Eastern Europe is currently in the midst of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic with much higher levels of infected and dead compared to the spring. This health crisis not only has economic consequences, but also has contributed to political instability in parts of the region. Associate Professor Martina Björkman Nyqvist has been awarded the ºÚÁÏÉçÏÂÔØ Corporate Partner Research Award 2020 for her groundbreaking work in development economics. Marie Ehrling, Chairman of Securitas, presented the award, which amounts to 100,000 SEK.

During the fall, the third year Retail Management students have been working with projects for our ten Retail Club companies.
