Professor Bali Swain was invited to give a talk on Net Cost of Intelligence: AI And the Sustainable Development Goals, jointly hosted by the Integrated Policy Analysis and SDG Monitoring sections at DESA, United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, on 24 July 2025.

Ranjula Bali Swain and Peter Dobers co-edited and published the Routledge Handbook of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Research and Policy — a collection of seminal research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that investigates how the 17 goals are shaping real, transformative change toward a more sustainable future.

On Tuesday, September 2, the ºÚÁÏÉçÏÂÔØ hosted the launch of ByrÃ¥kratpoesi (Bureaucrat Poetry) - a unique collection of poems written by senior public servants. The evening combined poetry readings, panel discussions, and reflections on how creative expression can reveal the human side of bureaucracy.

Louise Bringselius, affiliated researcher at the House of Governance and Public Policy (GaPP) at ºÚÁÏÉçÏÂÔØ, highlighted in an opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter last Friday the importance of strengthening the role of experts in public administration. She points out how the marginalization of professionals risks weakening both institutions and trust in society.
